Sandstone and Gardenview Gazebos by Canadian Tire

Issued July 21, 2010
What to do
Customers using the recalled gazebos are asked to follow instructions below to identify non-compliant gazebo base panels. If the base panels in gazebos are found to be non-compliant, customers should remove them immediately and contact Sunjoy Industries to have replacement base panels shipped to them free of charge. The replacement panels will come with instructions for easy installation. Instructions for identifying non-compliant gazebo base panels: The nylon used in the canopy of all Gardenview and Sandstone Gazebos is compliant. Customers should check if the material used in the gazebo canopy and base panels are the same. If not, the gazebo base panels are made of textalene and are not compliant. Customers will need to replace them immediately. If the materials used in the canopy and base panels are the same, customers have a compliant gazebo and do not need to take any further action. The textalene fabric is not compliant for use on gazebos and is found on the base panels of the Sandstone Gazebos and select Gardenview Gazebos sold between 2007 and 2010. Textalene fabric, commonly referred to as sling, is transparent as compared to nylon material. The nylon fabric is compliant for use on gazebos and is currently on the canopy of both the gazebos and has been updated on the majority of the base panels of Gardenview gazebos sold in 2010.
