Electric Baseboard and Electric Fan Heater Thermostats by Honeywell International Inc. recalled due to fire hazard

Issue
The thermostat contains a line voltage relay which is used to switch the power to the electric baseboard heater or electric fan heater. The line voltage relay may not function properly and cause the plastic to overheat. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these thermostats.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected products and contact Honeywell for information on how to receive a free replacement thermostat for the T4700, CT1950 or CT1957 models. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
