Consumers should immediately check their window coverings to see if the tension device is attached to the cord and installed into the wall or floor. If it is not attached, then they should stop using the window coverings and contact Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. to receive a free repair kit. If consumers have difficulty installing the tensioning device provided with the repair kit, they should contact Lutron for further instructions. Shades sold after April 2009 were modified by adding a new, improved tensioning device as well as warning labels to the bottom hembar of the shades. The warning labels were printed in French starting August 31, 2009. These shades are not included in this recall.
