The four bolts that secure the mattress support on the recalled cribs may not be long enough and can cause the mattress support to detach and collapse. Infants and toddlers could become entrapped between the side of the crib and the mattress, which could lead to suffocation or strangulation, or they could fall out of the crib. Neither Health Canada nor IKEA has received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians as related to the hazard above for this product.

Entrapment hazard

Consumers should carefully examine their cribs for signs of damage, particularly around the mattress supports. Concerned customers may return their SNIGLAR crib to their nearest IKEA store for a full refund or exchange. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and IKEA.
