Consumers should carefully examine the drop-side hardware for any signs of damage. If consumers determine that their drop-side has been installed upside down, or that the drop-side hardware is broken, loose, missing, or deformed, or if there are any other reasons for concern, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and find an alternative safe sleeping environment for their baby. Consumers should not return the crib. Dorel Distribution Canada is offering a free retrofit kit to affected consumers. However, due to the unavailability of parameters involved in the testing, Health Canada remains unable to assess the retrofit kit. For more information, consumers may contact Dorel Distribution Canada at 1-800-295-1980 between 8 AM and 5 PM ET Monday through Friday. Consumers may also visit Dorel Distribution to verify if their crib is included in this recall. Consumers may also view a Health Canada background document explaining the recalls for drop-side cribs announced on June 24, 2010. Date modified: 2010-06-24
