Lenovo recalls Battery Packs for ThinkPad Notebook Computers

Consumers should immediately turn off their ThinkPad notebook computer, remove the battery pack and contact Lenovo for a free replacement battery pack. Consumers can continue to use their ThinkPad notebook without the battery pack by plugging in the AC adapter and power cord. For more information, consumers can contact Lenovo toll-free at 1-800-426-7378 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or Lenovo's website and select Support at the top of the page, then click on the link to the recall page in the News and Alerts section at the bottom right of the page for more information. Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
