Sony of Canada Limited recalls Panasonic Lithium Ion Battery Packs in VAIO Personal Computers

What to do
If your VAIO personal computer contains an affected battery pack, you should immediately turn off the computer and remove the battery pack following the instructions on Sony’s website . You may continue to use your VAIO personal computer by plugging it into the AC power. If the battery pack is affected, Sony of Canada Limited will send you a replacement battery pack. For more information, consumers may contact Sony of Canada Limited Customer Service Centre at 1-877-899-SONY (7669) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
