Expanded Recall: TAHA International Inc., Nutrifresh West Ltd. and PAK National Foods Ltd. recalls Shakeel Bhai Mehndi Waley – Bridal Special Henna Cone

Issue
The recalled product contains phenol which is a prohibited Hotlist ingredient. Phenolic compounds are known skin sensitizers and can produce chemical burns (corrosive action) to the skin. As of April 4, 2017, TAHA International has received one reported incident in Canada. As of May 24, 2017 neither Nutrifresh West Ltd. nor PAK National Foods Ltd. have received any reports of injuries or incidents in Canada.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them in regular household garbage. Please note that, in addition to the requirements of the Cosmetic Regulations , the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) prohibits the sale of cosmetics that are either made with hazardous substances, or under unsanitary conditions, to users in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
