Claire's recalls various cosmetic products due to possible asbestos contamination

Product: Claire's Eyeshadows, Claire's Compact Powder, and Claire's Contour Palette Issue: These cosmetic products may have been contaminated with asbestos. What to do
Customers should immediately discontinue use and return the affected products to a Claire's store for a full refund. Consumers may contact Claire's by telephone at 1-800-252-4737, option 2, between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit their website for more information. Please note that, in addition to the requirements of the Cosmetic Regulations, the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) prohibits the sale of cosmetics that are either made with hazardous substances, or under unsanitary conditions, to users in Canada. Furthermore, the Prohibition of Asbestos and Products Containing Asbestos Regulations , which came into force on December 30, 2018, prohibit the manufacture, import, sale and use of consumer products, including cosmetics, containing asbestos in greater than trace amounts. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
