Product: Black Diamond PIEPS DSP Avalanche Transceivers. Issue: The transceiver can switch modes unexpectedly, preventing the transceiver from transmitting a signal, resulting in no additional aid in the search and rescue process in the case of an avalanche. What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Black Diamond for a free replacement hardcase carrying system and user guide. Affected products What you should do Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Black Diamond.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled avalanche transceivers and contact Black Diamond for a free replacement hardcase carrying system and user guide to be used with the affected products. For more information, consumers may contact Black Diamond toll free at 866-306-0865, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT, by email , or visit the company's website and click on "Safety Recall" located at the top of the webpage. Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
