Lumber Jack Premium Hardwood Lump Charcoal recalled due to Suffocation Hazard

Issued July 7, 2021
Issue
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program project has revealed that the Lumber Jack Premium Hardwood Lump Charcoal does not meet the warning label requirements under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). The CCPSA requires warning labels be in both French and English. Lumber Jack Premium Hardwood Lump Charcoal does not have a French warning label. Charcoal produces carbon monoxide. This can be toxic if it is burned inside or in an area without proper ventilation, posing a suffocation hazard to users. Warning labels help to protect the public by telling them about this hazard. As of June 30, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents and injuries in Canada.
