Marin Mountain Bikes recalled due to Fall Hazard

Product: Marin Mountain Bikes. Issue: The bottom bracket on some of these bikes can break during use, causing the rider to lose control, posing fall and crash hazards to the user. What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle and contact Marin Mountain Bikes to confirm whether their bike requires a replacement. Affected products What you should do Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Marin Canada, Inc.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle and contact Marin Mountain Bikes to confirm whether their bicycle needs a free replacement bottom bracket. Marin authorized retailers will replace the affected bottom bracket (free of charge). No other part of the bicycles is affected. Consumers can contact Marin a number of ways: • Through the firms web site at www.marinbikes.com/ca/recall-safety . • Via email, at recall@marinbikes.com . • Through the company's toll-free phone number at (888) 655-5333 (option 3) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday. Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
