Leviton 50-ampere electrical connectors recalled due to electric shock hazard

Product: Leviton 50-ampere electrical connectors including connectors, plugs, receptacles and inlets. Issue: The printed ground and hot wire terminal designations were reversed during production, posing an electric shock hazard. What to do: Consumers should immediately discontinue use of their electrical connector, verify if the product is affected, and contact Leviton for a replacement. Affected products What you should do Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc.
What to do
Consumers should immediately discontinue use of their electrical connector and verify if the product is affected. Consumers with an affected unit should disconnect power to it and contact Leviton. Leviton will provide properly labelled replacement products. Consumers can contact Leviton in one of the following ways: Phone: 877-978-2032 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm EST Monday to Friday, online or by email . Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
