GLW Battery Packs used in Hovertax 2.0 Self-Balancing Scooters/Hoverboards recalled due to fire hazard

Issue
The lithium-ion GLW battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat, posing a risk of the products smoking, catching fire and/or exploding. As of November 18, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled self-balancing scooters/hoverboards and contact Razor for instructions on how to obtain a prepaid shipping carton to send the GLW battery pack back to Razor, and to receive a free replacement battery pack. Note: Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding COVID-19, there may be some delays receiving the replacement battery packs. Consumers can contact Razor USA LLC toll-free at 1-866-467-2967 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or online at company's website . For more information, consumers may contact Health Canada Consumer Product Safety at cps-spc@hc-sc.gc.ca . Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents or concerns related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
