Danby brand free-standing and slide-in electric ranges recalled due to tip-over hazard

Issue
In some homes, the ranges could tip-over if a heavy weight is placed on an open oven door, posing a risk of burn injuries from hot food or liquids in cooking containers. As of December 17, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.

What to do
Consumers should use the model and serial numbers above to determine if their appliance is subject to this notice. If it is, they should not place any heavy objects on the open oven door and contact Danby Appliances to schedule a free inspection and repair. For more information, consumers may contact Danby Appliances online or by telephone toll-free at 1-877-246-2296 Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST, and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, for assistance on repair or replacement of the part. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
