Ionic smartwatch recalled due to burn hazard

Issue
The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard to the user. As of February 15, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or Mexico. In the United States, the company has received at least 115 reports of the battery overheating.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Ionic smartwatch and contact Fitbit LLC for a refund. For more information, consumers can contact Fitbit LLC by telephone at 1-888-925-1764 (toll free) or 213-328-5250 (toll) or online at www.help.fitbit.com/ionic , or www.fitbit.com and click on “Product Help” at the bottom of the page for more information or www.fitbitionic.expertinquiry.com . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC), PROFECO and Fitbit LLC. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
