The original mounting position of the blocked vent switch may not allow the boiler to switch off in a timely manner during a blocked vent condition, posing a Carbon monoxide poisoning hazard. As of June 07, 2022, the company has received no reports of blocked vent switch failures in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of blocked vent switch failures, and no reports of injuries.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled boilers and contact LAARS ® Heating Systems Company to arrange for the installation of a free repair kit. For more information, consumers can contact LAARS ® Heating Systems Company by telephone at 1‑888-454-3223, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT, by email at warranty@laars.com , or visit the company website and click on “Recall Notice” for more information . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Laars Heating Systems Company Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
