The rear guard assembly can break or detach, posing a laceration hazard to the user. As of June 13, 2022 , the company has received one report of a laceration injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received reports of 8 laceration injuries. The company has received a total of 571 incident reports of the rear guard assembly breaking or detaching.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Stanley Black & Decker Canada Corporation for a replacement rear guard assembly kit or go to a D E WAL T Service Center for a free repair. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (add CPSC’s web link) (US CPSC) and Stanley Black & Decker Canada. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
