Trek Carbon Handlebars/Stems and Bicycles Recalled due to a Fall Hazard

Issue
The carbon bar may break during use, posing risk of fall hazard. As of August 17, 2022, the company has received one report of incident in Canada relating to the Aeolus handlebar/stem, resulting in a concussion, stitches, and a dental injury. In the United States, the company has received five reports of incident relating to the Speed Concept, and 32 claims relating to the Aelous handlebar/stem.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products. Consumers should contact their local authorized Trek retailer to arrange for a free repair. If consumers have any questions, they can bring their bicycle to a retailer to determine if they have a recalled product. For more information, consumers can contact Trek Bicycle Canada by telephone toll-free at 1-800-373-4594, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT, or visit their website . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Trek Bicycle Canada ULC. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
