King Song KS-16S Electric Unicycle Battery recalled due to fire hazard

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has published a warning to consumers about the risks of battery fires with King Song electric unicycles. The CPSC is aware of one fire associated with the affected product and determined the battery pack can overheat and present a risk of fire. As of October 19, 2022, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled electric unicycle battery and contact Smart Wheel to schedule a battery diagnostic and obtain a user manual for the product. Consumers must follow instructions in the user manual related to proper use and safety of the product. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. The product will no longer be considered recalled after the consumer takes the actions outlined by Smart Wheel. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
