Giro Merit Bicycle Helmet recalled due to injury hazard

The helmet straps may detach from the helmet causing the helmet to dislodge from the users head. During an accident, the user’s head may not be protected. As of March 1, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents and no reports of injuries.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the helmet and return the helmet to Giro for a free replacement. For more information, consumers can contact Outdoor Gear Canada at 1-800-363-0693 ext. 2, Monday to Friday 0900-1700 EST, or by email at warranty@ogc.ca . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Bell Sports, Inc. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
