Kid Casters Children’s Fishing Rod recalled due to the presence of lead

The ceramic guide at the tip of the fishing rods contains lead in excess of the allowable limit established by the Consumer Products Containing Lead Regulations. Lead is highly toxic, especially to children. A range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to lead and cadmium, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths. As of April 11, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fishing rods and contact Lil Anglers to arrange for return of the product and a refund or replacement. For more information, consumers can contact Lil Angers by telephone toll-free at 1-844-347-4543 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, by email , or visit the Kid Casters and Profishiency websites. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Lil Anglers LLC . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
