The power cord can become damaged near the cord bushing, which can lead to overheating of the cord, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. In addition, cord damage near the bushing can result in exposed copper wires, posing a shock hazard. As of November 28, 2023, the company has received 5 reports of incidents in Canada, including 1 report of a burn. In the United States, the company has received 74 reports of incidents and 2 reports of minor shock.
