White Jasmine Facial Skin Tonic recalled due to presence of methylisothiazolinone

The recalled product contains methylisothiazolinone (MI) which is prohibited in leave-on cosmetics. MI is a sensitizer which may pose a risk of inducing allergic reactions and skin irritation. As of May 16th, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the affected product in Canada.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled White Jasmine – Facial Skin Tonic and dispose of it safely according to local municipal waste requirements or return it to Spa Ceylon Canada in-store for a full refund. Please note that, in addition to the requirements of the Cosmetic Regulation the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) prohibits the sale of cosmetics that are either made with hazardous substances, or under unsanitary conditions, to users in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
