Oceanic Excursion, Hera, and OceanPro QLR4 Weight Pockets recalled due to drowning hazard

Issue
The handle for the QLR4 weight pockets in the Scuba Diving Buoyancy Compensating Devices can break during use. If this happens, the user will not be able to dump weight pockets in an emergency to rise to the surface, posing a drowning hazard. As of June 5, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 73 reports of broken weight pocket handles and no reports of injuries.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Huish Outdoors LLC for replacement QLR4 weight pockets. For more information, consumers can contact Huish Outdoors LLC by telephone at 1-833-493-1029 from 9:00am to 5:00pm MT or by email at service@huishoutdoors.com . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Huish Outdoors LLC. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
