The internal circuit board components can overheat, posing a potential fire hazard. As of October 3, 2023, the company has received 3 reports of incidents in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 13 reports of smoking, charring or thermal damage to the unit itself. The company has not received any reports of injuries in Canada or the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Russound for a free replacement unit to be installed at no cost by a certified professional installer. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Russound. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
