Honda Outboard Engines recalled due to injury hazard

Issue
Due to a manufacturing issue, there may be insufficient durability for the shift actuator link rod which can cause breakage during normal operation of the outboard motor. Link breakage will lead to the inability to shift the outboard motor, which may increase the risk of crash or injury. As of October 27, 2023 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Honda Outboard Engines and contact an authorized Honda Marine dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair. Honda is contacting all known purchasers directly. For more information, consumers can contact Honda Canada Customer Relations by telephone at 1-888-946-6329 from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or visit the company website . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
