Elmer’s® Rubber Cement recalled due to flammability hazard

Health Canada's compliance verification program has determined that one lot the product (Lot Number E20A139R), does not meet the requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 (CCCR, 2001) in Canada. Specifically, testing showed that Lot Number E20A139R of the product was "very flammable". The manufacture, import, advertisement or sale of a “very flammable” product is prohibited under the CCCR, 2001. The highly flammable nature of the product could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness, injury or death. As of December 1, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and dispose of it safely according to local municipal waste requirements. For more information, consumers can contact Elmer’s ® customer service by telephone at 1‑888‑435‑6377 from 8 am to 5 pm E.T., Monday to Friday. Customer service is available in English and French. Consumers can also visit the company website recall.elmers.ca . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
