Shell Rotella ELC NF Pre-diluted 50/50 Heavy Duty Antifreeze + Coolant recalled due to potential leakage and poison hazard

The recalled products do not meet the labelling requirements or the leak test requirements for consumer chemical products in the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act . Leaks from the container could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness or injury, including death. As of December 14, 2023, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada.

Poisoning hazard

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and dispose of it according to municipal hazardous waste guidelines. Consumers can contact Shell Canada Products for instructions on obtaining a refund by telephone at 1-855-691-2590 between 8am-8pm EST or by email at customercare-CA@SHELL.com . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
