Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat recalled due to potential chemical hazard

Issue
The harness padding of the Thule RideAlong bike seats can contain the flame-retardant DecaBDE ( Decabromodyphenyl ether), which may pose a chemical hazard. DecaBDE can be toxic if it’s ingested or if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. A s of March 20, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Thule RideAlong and contact Thule Group to arrange for the return of the harness padding and register for a replacement harness padding. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Thule Group. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
