Essential Medical Supply - Endurance® Hand Bed Rails recalled due to entrapment and asphyxiation hazards

When attached to an adult’s bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress. This poses a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. As of April 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 3 reports of incidents and 4 reported deaths.
