Atomi Smart Heaters recalled due to fire hazard

Issue
In the event of a power interruption, including unplugging the unit, the heater may unexpectedly turn on automatically when power is restored or plugged back in, causing the unit to operate unattended, creating a risk of fire. As of May 23, 2024, the company has received no reports of fire in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 1 report of the product self-operating and no reports of injuries.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heater, visit www.atomiheaterrecall.com to register for a refund and dispose of the product in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements. For more information, consumers can contact Atomi Inc. by telephone at 888-770-7140, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm CST , or visit the company website www.atomiheaterrecall.com . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Atomi Inc. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
