FURminator deShedding Ultra Premium Dog Conditioner (1 Gallon) recalled due to microbial contamination

The recalled products may contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa , an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria. As of May 28, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or illness in Canada. In the United States, the company has received four reports of incidents and no reports of illness .

Microbial hazard

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product, dispose of it according to municipal waste guidelines , and contact the company for refund and additional information. Do not pour the product down the toilet or drain.
