Expanded Recall: Indigenous Collection Ceramic Plates by Canadian Art Prints recalled due to the presence of lead

Third-party testing of the glazed ceramic plates has determined that they contain lead in excess of allowable limits. Lead is highly toxic, especially to children. A range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to lead and cadmium, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths. As of July 16 , 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada and in the United States.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled glazed ceramic plates and contact Canadian Art Prints and Winn Devon Art Group Inc. for a refund and then destroy the product. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
