DeWALT Battery Electric Walk Behind Lawn Mowers recalled due to risk of injury

Issue
If water gets into the mower’s handle support while the battery is installed, the mower can fail to shut off when the bail handle is released or start without a key, posing a laceration hazard to the user. As of August 8, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 11 reports of incidents, one of which involved a minor laceration injury.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and bring the products to an authorized service center where the mowers will be repaired. Consumers can locate an authorized service center by calling DeWALT or by visiting their website. For more information, consumers can contact DeWALT by telephone at 1- 800-990-6421, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, or visit the company website at https://www.dewalt.ca/push-mowers-recall . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ( US CPSC ) and Stanley Black & Decker Canada Corp . Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
