On August 6, 2024, Leica Biosystems became aware, through post market surveillance, of a customer using flammable freezing spray within the cryostat chamber. The air/spray mixture in the chamber ignited, leading to an explosion causing slight burns to the arms and face of the technician. The scope of the recall has been expanded to include all devices produced prior to 2009/01/01. Recall start date: August 29, 2024
