Canyon Speedmax Bikes recalled due to injury hazard

Canyon Speedmax CF models R073 and R41 with a V21 Aerostem can, in rare instances, sustain a crack or break of the fork steerer tube, leading to a potential detachment of the cockpit assembly (stem and handlebar), mostly after a harsh impact such as hitting a deep pothole or another similar stress event. This might lead to a fall or in severe cases, injury depending on the situation and the rider’s environmental conditions. As of February 12, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bikes until they’ve been inspected and repaired by a professional bike mechanic. Consumers can order a repair kit from the company’s website.
