Kubota MX5400DTC tractor recalled due to risk of physical hazard

Issue
The clutch cable for the drive assembly may be kinked or damaged, preventing the tractor from shifting gears as expected. The unexpected loss of functionality could briefly affect the operator’s ability to slow or stop the machine. As of February 19, 2025, the company has received 3 reports of clutch cable breakage incidents in Canada, and no reports of injury. In the United States, the company has received 30 reports of clutch cable breakage incidents and no reports of injury.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Kubota MX5400DTC Tractor and to contact a local dealer for a no-charge repair/replacement of the clutch cable . For more information, consumers can contact Kubota Canada Ltd. toll free at 1-800-405- 6916, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, by email at kcl_g.customerservice@kubota.ca or through the company's website . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Kubota Canada Ltd. Please note that recalled products are prohibited from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
