Ryobi battery-powered mowers recalled due to potential fire hazard

Issue
The recalled mowers have a push-on connector inside the powerhead which can overheat, posing a potential fire hazard. As of January 24, 2025, the Company has received 1 report of overheating with fire while the mower was in use. There are no reports of injury in Canada. In the United States the Company has received 96 reports of overheating while the mower was in use, including 4 reports of fires. Two minor injuries were reported in the United States.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mowers and contact TTIOPE for instructions on how to safely disable the mower and receive a free replacement 21” walk-behind mower. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and TTI Outdoor Power Equipment Inc. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
