Certain MEC Toaster and Toaster Bunting Suits recalled due to mould hazard

A small number of the recalled products were found to contain mould. Mould may pose a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mould. As of February 11, 2025, the company has received two reports of injuries in Canada.

Microbial hazard

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return to Mountain Equipment Company (MEC) for an exchange or refund. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
