Baxter Corporation is issuing urgent medical device correction for devices which experienced battery-related fires due to use of third-party, after-market batteries (not approved by Baxter). Baxter will update IFUs and service manuals to include instructions to only use Baxter approved battery for replacement and highlight risks associated with using unapproved battery.
