My First Snowman’s top hat recalled due to choking hazard

Issue
The brim of the hat can break creating a small part causing a potential choking hazard. As of May 28, 2025, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 44 reports of the brim of the top hat cracking or breaking and no reports of injury.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled My First Snowman and stop using the top hat, provide the company with a photo of the date code on the bottom of the brim before disposing of the top hat. The company will provide consumers who register for the recall with a replacement top hat made of a different material. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ( US CPSC ) and The Step2 Company, LLC. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
