RYOBI branded cordless 24" hedge trimmer recalled due to potential laceration hazard

Issue
The hedge trimmer blade can unexpectedly activate after pressing just the safety or trigger control individually rather than engaging the safety and trigger controls simultaneously, posing a potential laceration hazard. As of May 27 2025, the company has received one reported incident and one report of finger laceration in Canada. In the United States, the Company has received 10 reports of incidents and 15 reports of injury.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hedge trimmers and visit the company's website to determine if their trimmer is included in this recall and to obtain instructions on how to receive a free replacement trimmer. For more information, consumers can contact TTI Outdoor Power Equipment Inc. by telephone at 1-800-597-9624 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and TTI Outdoor Power Equipment Inc. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
