Converta Camping Suspension Stretcher recalled due to Laceration and Amputation Hazard

Issue
The backrest fold mechanism can pinch consumers’ fingers, posing laceration and amputation hazards. As of June 23, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidence or injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received seven reports of the seatback adjustment mechanism pinching consumers’ fingers including two reports of fractured fingers.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled suspension stretchers and contact The Coleman Company Inc. for a free repair kit, including installation instructions. Consumers should visit the Coleman Company online at https://recall.coleman.com/ to verify whether their model is affected and to register for a free repair kit. For additional questions, call toll-free at 800-345-3278 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Newell Brands. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
