Bio Ionic One Inch Long Barrel Curling Iron recalled due to burn hazard

The barrel of the curling iron can snap and detach, posing a burn hazard to consumers. As of October 10, 2025, the company has received no reports of the curling iron barrel detaching in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 258 reports of the curling iron barrel detaching, including six reports of minor burn injuries.

What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product , unplug it, and contact Bio Ionic to register for a free replacement curling iron. Consumers will be asked to cut off the plug and return the plug to the recalling firm using a prepaid shipping label. For more information, consumers can contact Bio Ionic by telephone at 877-853-9627, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, by email at longbarrelsupport@bbicompany.com , or visit the company website and click on “product recalls” on the bottom of the page for more information. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Bio Ionic. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
