Trek and Electra brand bicycles with coaster brakes recalled due to fall hazard

The grease inside the coaster brake hub assembly on the affected models does not provide adequate lubrication for the hub’s internal sliding surfaces. This can cause accelerated wear and internal damage, which may prevent the brake from working. The rider could lose control of the bicycle, posing risk of a fall hazard. As of November 10 th , 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or in the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact their local authorized Trek retailer for free replacement of the back wheel.
