Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled product contains methyl eugenol above the maximum concentration in the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist . Methyl eugenol is prohibited as a pure ingredient on the Hotlist due to its potential for carcinogenicity but is permitted as a naturally occurring component in botanical extracts with specific limits depending on the product type. As of January 11 th , 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries.
