Patchwork and Pine Inc. Lip Balm and Artisan Soap recalled due to the presence of prohibited ingredients

It was determined that these products contained prohibited ingredients as per Health Canada’s Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist (‘Hotlist’). Dioxane and Benzyl Cyanide are prohibited ingredients on the Hotlist. Dioxane is prohibited due to its possible carcinogenic effect. Benzyl cyanide is prohibited due to the potential release of cyanide. As of February 10, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Chemical hazard

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and dispose of it in regular household garbage. Customer enquiries and refund requests will be handled directly by Patchwork and Pine Inc. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
