Elixir -40 C windshield washer fluid recalled due to improper labelling and lack of child-resistant packaging

The recalled products do not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act . The lack of child-resistant packaging presents a risk of unintentional exposure, which could lead to serious illness or injury, including death. As of February 25, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Labelling and packaging

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and dispose of it according to local municipal hazardous waste guidelines. For more information, consumers may directly contact the retailer/distributor from whom they purchased the recalled product. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
