Hazard description
The pupil segment (black) of Elmo’s eye on the teether can separate during use if frozen and be a potential choking hazard. As of September 3, 2026, the company has received 3 reports of incident and no reports of injury in Canada. In the United States, there has been 1 report of incident and no reports of injury.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Skip Hop Inc. for further instructions on disposal of the product and to receive a refund in the form of a gift card. For more information, consumers can contact Skip Hop Inc. by telephone at 1-800-692-4674 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST, Monday to Friday or visit the company website . Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Skip Hop Inc.. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form .
